Reading support · 2027
School-based, small-group learning designed to make the first steps into literacy structured, active and enjoyable.
Children in Grade RR and Grade R are close in age, but they are not at the same point in their literacy development. LaunchPad keeps one shared sense of discovery while giving each grade an appropriate focus.
First foundations
Building the code
Inside a session
LaunchPad uses hands-on, multi-sensory activities to keep young children engaged while practising the foundations that matter.
Children tune in to sounds, patterns, rhythm and spoken language.
Letters, mark-making and practical materials turn abstract ideas into something children can explore.
Important skills are revisited so familiarity can grow into confidence.
Good to know
LaunchPad is an early literacy and phonics programme. It does not diagnose learning difficulties or replace specialist assessment. Where a child's needs fall outside the programme's scope, the responsible next step is a conversation and an appropriate referral.
Enquiries
The programme launches in selected West Rand schools in 2027.
